What is Pennebaker Journaling?

Developed by Dr. James Pennebaker at the University of Texas, this method involves writing freely about your deepest thoughts and feelings for 15-20 minutes each day over consecutive days.

Your Schedule

Initial Overview: Saturday, April 18 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time — a detailed overview to set the foundation for the practice (90 min).

Daily Sessions (Days 1-4): April 19-22 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time (America/New York)

Each session is 60 minutes. We meet live on Zoom, then you write privately using your personal dashboard.

Your Private Journal

Your dashboard includes a private writing space for each day. Your entries are completely private — only you can see what you write. There is no sharing, no feedback, no judgment. Just you and the page.

A built-in timer helps you stay on track, and you can see your progress across all 5 days.

Common Questions

What do I write about?

Write about your deepest thoughts and feelings regarding a significant experience or emotional issue. It can be the same topic each day or different. The key is emotional depth and honesty.

Will anyone read my journal?

No. Your entries are completely private and visible only to you. This is your safe space.

Do I need writing experience?

Not at all. This isn't about good writing — it's about honest writing. Grammar, spelling, and structure don't matter. Just keep your hand moving.

What if it brings up strong emotions?

That's normal and expected. Research shows that while people may feel temporarily emotional after writing, they consistently report feeling better within hours. The live Zoom sessions provide a supportive container.

Can I do this without attending the Zoom sessions?

The Zoom sessions provide important context and community support. We strongly recommend attending, especially the initial overview on April 18.

Is there a refund policy?

Due to the intensive nature and limited spots, all payments are non-refundable.
